I can’t say enough great things about this place! I found it on a Google search add a point of my life where I needed resources around Grief and cancer. I was welcomed in every group warmly openly, and everyone was wonderful. We all kind of joined a tribe that none of us really wanted to belong to. The place was warm and inviting the staff were helpful and the instructors are fantastic. There are millions of classes every day every week and every month for caregivers those going through cancer and loved ones along the journey. I would highly highly highly recommend this to anyone in the area. It’s a saving grace of a non-for-profit that I’m so glad I came into contact with.

It’s just so happens that it also was right next to the hospital. The person I was grieving worked out when I was a young girl so it’s nostalgic for me.

Colleague of mine referred me to Wellness House services in December when I was affected by cancer. Due to the fast nature and terms of his termination, I am appalled by their treatment of their sole African American male counselor whom I was seeking services for myself and my son. Truly disappointing and disgusting to say the least.

I share this in hopes that Wellness House will expand their mission to better serve those like me fighting for life and in need of support during such a crucial time. In 2016, in my mid 20’s working as an elementary school teacher I was diagnosed with a rare blood disease that affects 1 in a million people. I was near death and in need of an urgent bone marrow transplant. My oncologist and social worker at Cardinal Bernadin Cancer Center recommended Wellness Center for support. Being a young adult with a rare disease has been extremely isolating. Knowing I had a local resource like Wellness House gave me so much hope that I could get through this. After touring and learning about all of the amazing young adult support, I felt the first glimmer of hope. The next day I received 2 devastating phone calls that I will never forget 1.) I did not have any bone marrow matches needed to survive this cruel disease 2.) I was rejected as a member at Wellness House because though I was a cancer hospital patient, receiving cancer treatments, and under the care of an oncologist my rare disease diagnosis would exclude me from receiving support services. The confusing thing was that my treatments were the same as blood cancer patients and I just dreamt of what treatment would have been like with peer support. I got both of these phone calls within 30 minutes and was absolutely crushed at a time where I needed support from a center like Wellness House. I truly hope you expand your mission to serve those that are often overlooked and may not have the much needed support that common diseases have. Thank you for considering.

I truly love it! The environment is incredible, and the staff are some of the nicest people I have ever met! It’s so interesting how you never walk into the same store twice, and their message is so powerful. Can’t wait to come back!

We went in there and was greeted by a young lady that led us around and showed us all the items that were donated. I was surprised to see the valuable items reduced to support Cancer.I will tell all my friends to stop in... PS I took home some collectibles 🙂

I wanted to share how marvelous this place is... Years ago.... I watched a close friend of mine pass away from a very aggressive cancer... And the "hospice" organization that was supposed to care for him..in his final days.... Was outrageous and nearly completely neglectful of my friend's needs... Intentionally... I know because I was there....
When I was blessed enough to find Wellness House in Hinsdale..... I was amazed with the maturity, kindness, objectivity and patience I encountered during my time of grief. Counselor-Michael Williams IS THE BEST😊😊⛪🙏⛪🙏😊😊 and I would suggest going to this establishment for ....... Even just some quiet moments..... Necessary to grab when you can.... In this thing called life... What a gift Wellness House is and bless all of those involved in such heart wrenching situations.... Directly and indirectly.

Wonderful place to go for cancer support. Parking is limited and once when ththe were we a lot of events scheduled, I had to forego my visit because there was no place to park! The staff is wonderful!
