The village of Carol Stream does not post parking signs accordingly. They claim the parking code states that no street parking is allowed within 2 AM and 5 AM but do not post the signs everywhere. They will ticket you randomly when they are looking to work on the streets, otherwise they don't bother. That is very devious. I have lived here for three years and have been parking outside my driveway, had never been ticketed until last week when they also sent a letter saying there would be work done on my street. What a coincidence.

When I called the police department to ask, they answered in such a condescending manner. Tickets should not be enforced if signage is not properly displayed. Villages should be required to post proper signage to enforce laws such as parking. It is not rocket science. They have a million signs for parents not to park between certain hours of school, but the overnight parking is nowhere stated there.

They tore up and redid the sidewalks and gutters on my block. Now our driveway and sidewalk are misaligned, causing my mother to mistep, break her foot, and flare up an old injury. I am furious. In the past, I've gotten 10 stitches done from a bike accident that happened because of the crooked sidewalks on my street. My mom could have hit her head, and/or an irreversible tragedy could have occurred. Don't just do the job, do it right.

Jan 2019 I was pulled over driving through Carol Stream heading home from a 12 hour work shift at the airport. That same night they towed my car, and put a 12 hour hold on my vehicle. Which I found out after they booked me then told me I was being released with no bond pending charges awaiting the test results which could take up to 6 months. Over a year and a month later Feb 2020 the officer that was training during my initial arrest called me and told me that they were charging me with DUI (3 counts), possession, and speeding.
An since the officer told me over the phone that if I turned myself in without them having to issue a warrant for my arrest it would be a book and release approved by his supervisor. My lawyer told me to turn myself in and that I wouldn’t need him until court, tell the arresting offer that you have an attorney for this case and was instructed not to answer any questions. The officers proceeded to place me in an interview room where they took my belongings once again then begun to ask me questions related to my charges I repeated what my attorney instructed but he kept talking and asking questions like my rights didn’t matter.

After 2 years of court appearances and missing work the judge granted my Motion to Quash my arrest and lab samples. The officer who arrested me was in training and in his report he filed that my eyes were normal and testified to that in court, his training officer at the time then testified that my eyes were blood shot but he never filed his own report and referred to his trainees report numerous times for clarification. They had no reason to assume I was under the influence is what the judge came form to asking with the inconsistencies of both officer’s testimonies.

I am confused how they were able to unconstitutionally STEAL my motor vehicle and hold it hostage for 12hrs in a tow yard, then made me pay the police department and the tow company separate fees in order to release my vehicle. All of this prior to them even charging me with anything, and the charges they filed a 1year and a month later didn’t hold up.

According to the judge I have to pay the Carol Steam Police Department another $150. After all the money I missed at work for court dates, the money already paid for my vehicle release, the tow yard fees they want me to pay more fees for their time when they falsely accused me of being under the influence. I was truly embarrassed by these allegations, and nearly lost my career. Am I able to recoupe the fees from the seizure of my vehicle and waive the $150 payment?

My initial review on the matter was left on Carol Stream Police Department Google review page a year ago with no response.

Can someone please assist me with this?

Carol stream police office practice unlawful and unethical laws they all have rougue tendencies they escalate more that desculate civil matters dont feel safe at all going into their establishment

Called to get requirements on installing a pool in my backyard. The lady I spoke to was really rude. For as much as we pay to live in carol Stream, you would think they would be happy to help and give us information.

Yes I do not know how you let things go bad for new generation suburbans I mean it looks nice but I think your colaberance towards equal rights needs more work lost many friends due to insubordination and violence I’m relocating we use to be a close community or village !
