I'm just gonna be honest, this place sucks. The therapists are lazy, I had an emdr therapist who gave herself a manicure during my session during covid, a cbt therapist argue with me over a diagnosis, another cbt therapist who calls off at leat 1 or 2 times a month or every other month, plays on her computer and shops on amazon, does arts and crafts during my session, takes phone calls, and text a other clients while in session with me. I've made her aware of how unprofessional it is to not pay attention whe. Your patients are talking especially about traumatic situations and she spun it on me and took no responsibility for her behavior. She makes plans for care in future sessions and never follows through, she discusses how annoyed she is with other patients and I'm wondering what kinds of things she says about her patients when they aren't in session. She's always bringing up that I yelled at her, and just si were clear, in ANY professional mental health practice, none of her actions during session would be considered okay. I met the new primary care Dr on site yesterday and she proceeded to accuse me of using the disability system to my advantage and that there's nothing wrong with me, and I mentioned that I felt she was gaslighting me and she said that alot of the patients here do. SO it's my understanding that you're claiming that all of us who struggle with mental health issues are manipulating you and the system? So we're no longer people with actual feelings and concerns, now we're just a stigmatization of your imagination. When I said that my medical card doesn't pay for good mental healthcare she said it's the biggest insurance in illinois. Gaslighting your patients is what she considers good care? Honey you are sadly mistaken. And no I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here even when I was in crisis you guys stopped me from calling crisis team This place just sucks.

The employees here have absolutely no clue about the services they offer they can't answer any questions about billing when the classes are how to get your certificates of completion they are completely clueless and incompetent you can speak to different people every time you call and they will always tell you something different

I came here because I was in desperate need of help for my personality disorder and life path and somehow in about a year and a half they made my life worse, traumatized me, and left me angry. I came for guidance and was left in the dark. I tried but got absolutely no where in a year and even my therapist acknowledged there was no progress. Almost every single session was just a waste of gas, time, and money. The staff is under qualified to do their job and the service isn’t special. If you have like seasonal depression I’d recommend going here but for anything that’s actually serious take your money and insurance else where. Do not trust these people with your mental health if you’ve been walking on a tightrope, they will cut it.

If this review is solely on my counselor I would give it a five. But the experience otherwise has been nothing but a headache. Getting my first appointment took weeks because I wasn’t getting callbacks and people weren't answering phones. When I finally went in for an appointment I sat there for one and a half hours waiting. Billing was also a nightmare. I played phone tag with them for weeks and had seen my counselor twice before even getting to that part.

Communication is lacking with the front desk. I have been told multiple times they will call back with appointments for me and they never do and when I call it’s the same questions over again. It’s like they didn’t listen the last five times. Just yesterday I called and canceled my appointment for today because I was sick and I got a phone call from my counselor asking why I didn’t show up.

I would think it would be in the best interest if Sinnissippi reviewed their response and communication with their clients and potential clients. Being a mental health establishment, some people would feel that it shows that they don’t care, and if that’s a problem they have with their mental illness, that definitely won’t aspire much confidence.

Once you get past the circus and finally get your first appointment and finish the phone tag with billings, it gets smoother. The counselors are awesome people and have helped me immensely.

Is it worth the headache? For me, yes, only because of the great job the counselors do. Just be prepared to call the front desk five times in a week because you’ll seldom get a call back.

Update: Last week I discussed with the receptionist my next appointment would need to be around 3:00 because of my new work hours. She told me she had me in for 3:00. I just got my text reminder for 2:30. I called and she had put it in for the wrong time and now I have to wait two weeks to see him for a total of three. Guys, get your freaking act together. Seriously.

The positives: they accept Medicaid, the staff are friendly, and they offer services for pediatric patients.
The negatives: intake is completed over several (my granddaughter’s took 4) hour-long appointments, which delays the start of actual care. Late appointments are hard to get (not unusual), and the clinical staff are overburdened due to short staff.

So they have a wait list that is not acceptable. They have people that will council that are under qualified , but charge insurance as if your seeing doctors. Staff is empathetic to clients taking off work and saying you should be off for said condition then when your work needs a medical note councelers say they aren’t qualified to write one? Not kidding, So then your out your job, that’s some pandemic icing.
