I have purchased a few items online but nothing from the shop. It feels like the shop carries a very limited collection. I did try a jumpsuit on. The lady who served me lost interest quickly. The 8 was too tight across my chest so I asked for the 10. Another assistant opened the curtain while I was partially undressed. The 10 was ok across my chest but too big elsewhere. The store assistant suggested I could get it tailored. Perhaps, but I didn’t want to spend £250 on something which didn’t fit. The overall impression I got was slightly snobby. A real shame as I do like the label. I hope to have a better experience next time.

So happy to have finally made it into the first Scottish store in Edinburgh. It most certainly did not disappoint. I already knew how fabulous the quality and design of the clothes were but what actually blew me away, was the customer service! It's so personal and I felt so welcomed and appreciated. I was assisted mainly by Emma but Bianca was popping in and enthusing about the looks. I picked out a few items myself that I liked and the ladies asked if they could bring items in they thought would work for me too. I left with a capsule wardrobe (3 interchangeable outfits), with colours I would never have picked for myself. Emma & Bianca were so encouraging, uplifting and the whole experience was empowering. Women lifting other women up, no matter their shape or style. I had a 2.5 hour personal styling session with the wonderful Emma - all free and at no point did I feel that I had to purchase anything - I left with two large bags and a spring in my step. I have lovely items that I'm excited to wear. I will most certainly be back. Thank you Emma & Bianca.

I contacted my local ME+EM store in Battersea Power Station to enquire about the Angled Crossbody Bag in olive/black as this was shown on the website as coming soon for months. I firstly spoke to Michelle who sent an email to Head Office to find out the status of the bag; I subsequently called again and spoke to Jane who checked on the system and managed to locate the bag in the Edinburgh and called the team and requested for them to hold the bag for me! Jane called me back to update me and said to me to contact the Edinburgh Team in order to make payment. As suggested I did this and spoke to Sophia who arranged payment and delivery of the bag! I was elated when the bag arrived just a couple of days later!! The Team made this journey so seamless and were absolutely amazing from start to to finish! From their helpfulness, professionalism and attentiveness; the Team facilitated me getting my new bag; Can't explain how happy I am as Ive been searching for this for Months!!!! Thank you so much Michelle, Jane and Sophia, you ladies are amazing!

I am a big fan of the Edinburgh M and Em and am surprised at the negative comments. I have always found the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful, and I am particularly pleased that they are happy to let you browse , but then leap into action when you want service. I am not a small size, so my own is rarely on the hanger...but they have always had it in a back room or downstairs, and they happily go off to fetch what you need. I think it is a really great addition to the Edinburgh shopping scene. Please don't be put off by the reviews !

My first time managing to visit the Edinburgh Shop, although a longtime online customer. What a beautiful store.
I found the staff to be extremely friendly and Fiona who spent time with me was particularly helpful and patient in providing sizes and suggesting styles. A great shopping experience.
My husband and dog were made to feel very welcome too.

The door was opened by a doorman, so it was clear that this was going to be an expensive shop. It was certainly beautifully laid out (tho' somewhat minimalist with only small sizes on display which, as someone said, just sticks in the craw somewhat), but it was quite the experience in not the right way. Two young women were at the front looking disinterested and chatted to each other the whole time I was there, with little attention given to me or indeed to other customers. Paid to look pretty? ( they did little else), but the boredom.... or whatever it was, was not a good look at all, though quite amusing in a bizarre 'how not to treat your customers' sort of way. A welcome greeting might have been a start. What message were they trying to project? Exclusivity? Nonchalance? Not paid enough to be helpful. I'm paying for that I thought - no wonder the prices are so steep.

The person I assumed to be the manager ( dark hair and black trendy glasses) was lovely and a great 'ambassador' for the shop. Helpful, interested and professional - but a real shame about the others ( the 2 young people draped over each other by the entrance).

The clothes are lovely and seem well made, but seriously, do ME+EM really need all those people to staff a shop which has so few clothes on display and, from what I could see, so few customers. I won't be going there again.

An amazing retail experience this morning in Edinburgh. An incredibly beautifully laid out display of the most delightful items of clothing.
All sizes available, if not on display, and the charming and enthusiastic Staff will assist you.
For those of use wanting a special experience whilst shopping this has to be the place to visit!!

I went to this store on George street ,Edinburgh this morning.I am Indian. It being winter,I was wearing my puffer coat.As soon as I entered,I smiled at one of the girls and said that I was browsing. She was very cold and frosty and then another young girl started following me around and then it hit me that they thought I was planning to shoplift!Thete was another older lady in a pink skirt who didn't smile once at me and all of them were eyeing me with suspicion!I wanted to walk out but ended up buying a 95£ blouse.Maybe I will return it as I am incensed by their attitude!
What about me screamed shoplifter? Is this how they are taught to greet customers or did they just profile me and decide to treat me this way?
Was it my race?Did I not look middle class enough to buy their clothes? Was it because I was wearing a puffer coat on a cold day in Scotland and they were worried I could hide the loot?!I have several of their merino wool sweaters that I have bought online. No wonder some people prefer not going to stores.
I have never felt so uncomfortable in any store.Install more CCTV cameras if you are worried about shoplifters or employ a security guard, but please teach your employees to be welcoming, less snooty and less biased!Poor customer service training.
