My experience having my daughter here was so positive that I feel the need to leave a review. I had an elective c-section, and it was a smooth experience from beginning to end. I felt so respected by the staff, and they were all incredibly kind. When I decided to switch to formula instead of nursing, I was immediately reassured and met with no judgement. When I needed slightly stronger pain medication, I was granted it. My husband and I felt well taken care of. All the nurses and staff members were awesome and attentive. I’m a highly anxious person, and I feel like coming here was an excellent choice for me. The whole process was easy, and we’re so grateful.

Just visiting our newborn grandson. We found all the staff to be extremely helpful and kind. Even if you pass up a staff member in the hall and look the least bit unsure of where you are going, you will always have them ask if they can help you. And they will go out of their way to do so. In the pediatric unit, the nurses and doctors were very professional, friendly and attentive. The facilities are new, clean, and attractive. They also included some outdoor spaces which we used. I was very well impressed.

I had an extremely painful and unacceptable experience at this hospital involving the care of my infant daughter. After she suffered a head injury, I expected urgent and compassionate care, but instead I was met with neglect and what I believe to be racial bias.

A nurse specifically reassured me that she would return to our room, but once she looked in and noticed we were Black, she never came back. There was no rush to help, no clear communication, and no sense of urgency, even though it was not a busy day in the hospital. Staff up front at the emergency desk once in the back informed me that someone has come to our room already to service us which was a totally lie as i was holding my baby the entire time with no care.

My daughter’s safety and well-being were disregarded, and it’s deeply disturbing to know that racism may have played a role in the care we did—or rather, did not—receive. No parent should have to worry that their child won’t get the help they need because of the color of their skin.

This experience was traumatizing and disheartening. I sincerely hope this hospital takes a serious look at how bias and lack of accountability are affecting the level of care they provide. Our children deserve better.

I have had an overall positive experience with HRH. The nurses have been amazing in the CBC, except allowing nurses students to hold my nephew but not allowing me to even look at him through the door in the NICU (because only 2 banded people are allowed to see him.) Also the CRNA, Jesse, was extremely rude while my sister was in labor. He told her that he wouldn’t give her more pain medication unless she was more specific with where her pain was (while she was in the middle of a contraction). Then he rudely said “vagina, is it your vagina that hurts? We are in a hospital you can say vagina.”

I came in to be seen cause I haven’t been able to eat for over a week . They had me sitting in the waiting room for 5 hrs and when asked when I was being taken back they said that me not being able to eat for over a week wasn’t an emergency to be seen fast enough. And they kept taking back people who were not emergent right after getting checked in . I could hear them checking these people in and knew they weren’t emergent. This is not a hospital to come to if you want to see what is going on with you they suck they don’t check on you while waiting in the waiting room . They do not care about their patients what so ever . I absolutely would not recommend this hospital ever

When I first started going to HRH I was very impressed with the staff and the facilities. Dr. Hartley has done all of my colonoscopies and he is great! Dr. Ritter did my husband's shoulder replacement and he is great! However, after Dr. Prather performed my hand surgery things went south. After 10 months I was still having issues and seen Dr. Booher who has always been great. He said out of respect for Dr. Prather to send him a message. I did send a message and he said there was nothing he could do. I twisted my right knee last September and it wasn't healing. I seen ortho again and the said bucket handle tear and it should heal. It only got worse so I went to IU in Indy and Dr. Saltzman did a repair. The knee is healing well after surgery. I was seen in the ER last Saturday for severe left hand pain/swelling, etc. Dr. Jackson was very kind and thorough. She did x-ray and bedside ultrasound. X-ray was negative but ultrasound showed cyst/infection with fluid surrounding the area. She opted for antibiotics and to see hand surgeon/HRH Sports Medicine. After 5 doses of antibiotics with no improvement and worsening swelling radiating to pinky I phoned Dr. Booher's office today. They called back and said to see my primary. I stated that my primary is not the one to see for this and restated what ER doctor recommended. Basically, it will probably require drainage or removal, which is what they do! So, I phoned Hand to Shoulder to get an appointment and will be seen in 2 days. I am very disappointed in HRH and Dr. Booher refusing to see me. Perhaps, they are unhappy about my complaints of right hand surgery and neglecting to repair my left knee tears. It seems very unprofessional and unethical. With the exception of a couple of physicians and an ER visit, I will not seek medical care from HRH.

This is the 2nd time I’ve been to this hospital this year. For the ER specifically, nurses are great. The doctors and NPs. Don’t waste ur time, they are more worried about getting their number of pts in per day than your care.i myself with a kidney infection even google could’ve diagnosed me..but still dr didn’t give me the time of day for my pain or TX. He just slapped a 1/2 diagnosis on and called his day. What a waste of time &my insurance, my money. His name is Raymond he is a MD there in the ER.
