We cannot recommend Golden Standard Canine Training enough. Carissa and Mary both make an excellent team and taught us so much in our 8 weeks together. They are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about you and your pup. Our anxious pup found so much comfort in learning many useful skills that set boundaries and instilled confidence in us and him no matter what situations may arise. We are so grateful to them both!

Carissa is very skilled at training dogs and helping dog owners learn how to have expectations of their dogs. We signed up for the 8 week program and she worked with both of our corgis, teaching them to interact correctly with one another. She gave us tips and sent lesson reviews by email after each lesson. I especially love that she has made herself available for questions even after the training has finished. I can’t say enough good things about how helpful and encouraging she has been. We didn’t know if our dogs could even be around each other again since they had fought a few times and showed aggression towards each other. By the last lesson, they were running around her backyard doing great with each other. Our dogs loved her. We highly recommend Carissa for any dog training needs you have. Thanks a million Carissa!

Carissa came out for onsite training when I wanted to introduce my dog to a perimeter fence with shock collar. Everything went great. My dog trusted her readily, and in about an hour was accustomed to the new system around her yard. It was a very positive experience. I highly recommend Golden Standard Training.

Absolutely an amazing transformation of my canine friend's behavior! We were really worried that we took on more than we could handle with adopting a rescue. Within 5 one-on-one sessions, we have a very different dog. It was somewhat unthinkable that we could make so much progress in such a short amount of time. Carissa provided lesson plans and homework for our dog and we had some great success. Thank you Carissa for an amazing transformation!! I would definitely recommend Golden Standard Canine Training.

Carissa and Mary of Golden Standard did a fantastic job training our Mr. Murphy. They both taught us how to take charge of the situation, me more so than my husband! They both gave us the tools to stay in control of whatever situation arises such as when other dogs come around or even when our boy passes kids at the park. They made me feel more comfortable and confident going out with him or just having him off leash in our yard. When we started training he was around 6 months and he was becoming a bit of a menace, jumping on people, counter surfing, pulling on the leash like a maniac, etc. Walking around the neighborhood was more like having a sled dog pull you down the street after birds. In no time, Murphy was walking right beside us and he was no longer pulling me down the road. They fully unlocked his good boy potential. He still has his moments every now and again, however, now we know what corrective measures to do to stop that behavior when it starts. We took him on his first vacation immediately after his final session and he did amazing, everyone was so in awe of how great he was doing at such a young age. Training was a fantastic experience, when Murphy gets siblings we wouldn’t use anyone else to train them!

Carissa is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. She gave me instructions and tips to help me train my golden, Lady to become a well behaved dog. She provided emails after each lesson explaining each step so I could review and continue to work with Lady every day. After 8 weeks Lady has learned so much and she now listens and obeys my commands. I am so proud that she has become the dog I always wanted her to be.
