I love this store! I am always greeted with a hello and a friendly smile when I walk through the door. I appreciate the easy shopping experience and organization by items, colors, and sizes. It's always easy to find exactly what I'm looking for and I can be in and out in 5 minutes or browse/try on for an hour depending on my mood. I love the great prices and especially enjoy running in to check out the latest shoe selections. Thank you Clothes Mentor staff! Keep up the great work!

Clothes Mentor is my favorite place to go in Peoria, IL. I love the brands they take in and everything is very clean. I cannot tell you the countless times I have been there. The staff are very friendly and treat me like their own. They are always helping me find things they know I love. I absolutely love shopping there. Highly recommend checking it out!

Awful selling experience here.

I took in 6 containers of athletic apparel, jeans, nwt, long sleeves, etc. Got a text within 20 min saying they were done sorting and then was told at the store that all of my items were "juniors, old, or very worn" which was not the case at all. It seems whoever sorts picks clothing based off of their own opinions versus what would actually sell.

In addition, the employees here are not very friendly, instead are cold and act like they think they're better than every customer.

Highly recommend going to a different clothes mentor.

Truly one of the worst selling experiences I have ever experienced. I’ve done business with platos closet before and I usually get somewhere between $100-200 and they buy a lot of my stuff. I have some more upscale clothing that I bought for my first real job that no longer fits me, so I decided to try out clothes mentor. The woman who checked me in was very friendly, but the woman who checked me out was rude. They didn’t take any of my items even though they were all less than 2 years old. They said they were not spring and summer clothing, older than 2 years, and they were no longer in style. I’m sorry, but how do dress pants from Black House White Market go out of style? How are dresses not spring and summer items? Everything I brought in was in perfect condition and less than 2 years old. The woman who checked me out was wearing a tie-dyed tshirt, so I honestly don’t think the staff has any sense of what fashion is or what items are in style. I was very disappointed and will never be doing business with them again as a seller or a buyer. It’s one thing to not purchase any of my items, it’s another to be rude about it.

I brought in some really nice Black House White Market dress pants that were in perfect condition and only a year old. I also brought in really nice dresses from Lulus, less than a year old. They refused to take any of my clothes because "they were all older than 2 years and they weren't spring and summer clothing." It was such a waste of my time. The woman behind counter had an attitude when I asked why they weren't taking my stuff. Extremely disappointed and will never be going back.

This is the best Clothes Mentor out there. It is big, clean, well organized, and you have space to look through the clothes. They don't jam pack the racks and they keep it spotless. Highly recommend!

Two days ago, I purchased a pair of (used) tan suede high-heeled booties for $25 to wear to an upcoming event. I noticed on the receipt, it said, "Clothes Mentor Return Policy: Returns accepted within 7 days of purchase, with tags attached and receipt present. In store credit only. Non-apparel and sale items are not returnable." I thought that was fine because if I decided against the shoes, I could exchange them and buy something else.

Today, I found a nicer pair of (new) black leather booties at DSW down the road for pretty cheap and bought them. I then went back to Clothes Mentor to find out that tan suede high-heeled booties I got there are considered non-apparel items(!) and they would not return them for store credit--even though the tags were still on the bottom of the shoes and they had not been worn... and if they'd accepted my exchange, I'd just be buying other things from them.

Over the years, I've gotten more and more disappointed with Clothes Mentor. The staff turnover is high, I either see Sears or JCPenney's labels mixed in with high-end designer stuff and all overpriced. When things do go on sale, my size is always picked over. Today when I pulled up to find that they would not exchange the shoes I bought 2 days ago, there was a U-Haul packing up the Plato's Closet store next door. This is bad for Clothes Mentor as they do get a bit of crossover business. I can see that this store in Westlake will keep going downhill.

The “bagless” policy is obnoxious. There are reasons why most establishments offer bags for purchases. In this case, protection of delicate fabrics is a valid concern. I wish they would offer bags for a small fee like Aldi; they would thereby be encouraging minimal use while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
