Dr. Mathews was very pleasant during the course of my testing. She engaged me in conversation and patiently explained points I did not understand. She brought me water when I was thirsty and did not mind when I misunderstood things. I absolutely adore her and what she has done for me.

The first time I saw Dr. Matthews she was very nice, understanding and someone that I felt I could confide in. I was so wrong! My Grandma, that I loved very much and had just watched die a slow painful death,passed away just a few hours before my second appt. That appointment was for IQ testing which I thought she would reschedule so I could talk to her. I was extremely distressed and having bouts of crying that I tried to keep under control. I really needed someone to talk to! She did not! She was extremely cold and didn't care to hear about it. She still had me take the test. Afterwards I tried to talk to Dr. Matthews about my loss and was given a couple of minutes before she interrupted and said she needed to figure out what I owed her for the visit. The next day was appointment 3 for another round of testing and I was still grief stricken hoping that she would just listen to me!! She did not. I was met with the same rude attitude as the day before and cut short again saying she needed to figure out how much I owed her. She also used those test results and sent them to 2 Dr's that I'm seeing for pain management. I do not believe that I should have been tested under extreme duress and treated the way she did based on those results. I have severe back problems and that's why I was sent to her to get approval for a nerve stimulator. She has given approval for it contingent on me still seeing her. I feel like I'm being held hostage by Dr. Matthews because if I do not see her I will not get the help I need!! Every visit (after the first) she has been very rude, callus, and domineering. She diagnosed me with PTSD and was supposed to help me, not cause anxiety, stress and fear. Dr's are supposed to help people!! In my opinion this woman is not a good Dr.!! Please keep looking for someone that will help you! Good luck!
