Maggie the server was amazing, we absolutely loved her. The food was absolutely amazing the pancakes the waffle the sausages the cottage cheese and the shredded hash browns and coffee, heck even the water was good definitely recommend this restaurant and great atmosphere. Me and my family will definitely come again.

Small family owned diner that lives up to everything you read in the reviews. Friendly staff, huge portions that are served hot & fresh and the kind of hometown atmosphere and friendly staff that treat you like family from the moment you enter.

I’ve ate here a handful of times and the food is okay depending on what you get. My family an I ordered a pick up at 8pm and when I called the waitress that answered tried telling me they were closed when it says 9pm on Google then when I said that she said oh I thought it was Sunday. I could tell the whole time I was ordering she was annoyed by her voice & I understand I ordered an hour before close but you shouldn’t act like that. Then I went to get our food & asked for an application & the same waitress that took my order couldn’t even take 2 minutes to look for one. Upon arriving home the gyro meal we ordered had no sauce on it & big chunks of blue cheese, all our meals were thrown together quickly you could tell again I get it’s closing time but we are still paying customers & spent 50.. we won’t be back

The Midwest charm that Central Illinois is known for really comes across when you're visiting among the locals here at Canton Family Restaurant. I can speak for the French toast, and the corned beef hash, both of which are faithfully prepared Midwest favorites that are both tasty and "stick to the ribs."

Great food! Stopped on a whim as we were out shopping during Spoon River. Far exceeded our expectations. Loved it! Will definitely go back again next year

Good was marginal, low quality of ingredients in the Omelet, and the hash browns were not editable due to the excess of grease. Pancakes were 🥶 cold. The server was pleasant but only reformed when we were finished. We'd most likely not return.

Just in town for the day and stopped at the Canton Family Restaurant! WOW! I had Liver & Onions and husband had chicken fried steak. Both were 5 star meals! OUTSTANDING service! The cook DEFINITELY knows how to fix good food! The photo is what I couldn’t finish - it was a HUGE meal! Soup was delicious!
