I sadly cannot recommend this company for employment. I only give 2 stars because of some of the relationships that I built-in the 10 years I worked there.Leadership only cares for themselves and wants to make There quota to get there bonuses. Being wrongfully terminated from this company was the best thing they could have done for me. My moral compass no longer alliance with their business practices of hiring unqualified staff to work with the SMI/DDD population. For example, hiring staff who can not read or speak English and expecting for the training department to pass them. The work load is over bearing, staff are overworked and underpaid.
There has been no incentive /bonuses in the past four years With the exception of leadership receiving their bonuses.

The worst of the worst to work for. No communication between management and staff. No evaluations given for almost 3 years. The company is in complete turmoil with the Program Director micromanaging every move and lying and covering all her errors with lies. Resident Behavior Health houses are being neglected some without food periodically. There is no such thing as a raise. I would stay as far away from this company as possible

I strongly recommend that all providers of psychiatric care, as well as families and loved ones of the mentally ill, avoid sending their patients to the Arizona Mentor group home at 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Arizona Mentor group home at 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85037 is operated negligently by incompetent individuals who care nothing about the peace and safety of the neighborhood or about their patients.

The following are two examples of Arizona Mentor’s deplorable conduct and negligence:

On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon, an employee at the 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave location was in the back yard of the group home on his cell phone shouting racial epithets and every other obscenity in the English language at someone (highly offensive words starting with the letters “N” and “F” and “B” just to name a few). The employee was cursing and ranting so loud that the next door neighbor could hear it very loudly inside the neighbor’s living room, even though all doors and windows were closed! The neighbor was alarmed and thought people were in his backyard fighting, so the neighbor went to see what was going on. When the neighbor saw it was someone at the Arizona Mentor group home next door, he was not at all surprised.

The reason why the neighbor knew that this loudmouth in the Arizona Mentor group home back yard was actually one of their paid employees was simple: he said to the person to whom he was cursing at on the phone: “I’m at work right now.”

On January 9, 2018, while the neighbors were at work during the day (or sleeping because they WORK the night shift), the employees of Arizona Mentor group home negligently allowed one of their patients to become dangerously destabilized, and they allowed him to wander off to the neighbor’s house and proceed to threaten and harass the neighbors by banging on the door, shouting vulgar threats, and completely destroying the neighbor’s garden that the neighbor had recently paid a lot of money on. Their unstable patient just ripped all of the plants out of the garden while the Arizona Mentor employees did absolutely NOTHING to stop him. The frightened neighbor had to call the police to come and remove the threatening psychiatric patient from their property before he destroyed more than just their beautiful rose garden. The employees of the Arizona Mentor group home, who negligently allowed this to happen, didn’t even bother to apologize to their neighbor for this. They just came over taking pictures, and when the neighbor tried talking to them about it, they refused to engage in any conversation and just rudely walked away.

Bottom line: don’t send your loved ones to Arizona Mentor.

I would give them zero stars if I could. The Arizona Mentor program in Casa Grande is horrible to the staff and clients. My son was a client there for a long time and it was a constant struggle working with management. Oscar is uncaring to staff and clients. He is rude and very unprofessional. Complaints have gone unanswered when filed through the Arizona Mentor network. If your loved one is autistic do NOT send them there. They don't understand what the needs are of autistic clients. Please look elsewhere for your loved ones.

The staff were awesome. The clients were wonderful to work with. However, I was unfortunate to end up having to cater to a complete psychopath who was long overdue for intensive care. Definitely not a safe environment for the other clients and staff. I thought I would be working at the group home as a mentor, not surviving an asylum. Just not worth the $9.50
