Lovely little 2 mile, out & back. Stairs to get down to the beach after a mile. Lots of birds singing today. Seems to be other trails here - one of which is labeled "primitive hiking trail".

Beautiful down there. It is a gated rental community. Everyone was very kind. The Porta potty near the nature preserve trail head should have been emptied back in the 70s... it was 4 inches from overflowing!!! Swimming is not allowed, there are electric shock warnings up near the waters edge. Excellent place for bird watching.

An enjoyable place to paddle. Lots of birds and flowers. You can paddle out to Lake Erie from here also but an intermediate paddlers to do so.

Very cool spot to check out. Beautiful view over the lagoons. Parking lot at the trail head. Lagoons looked amazing for kayaking. Lots of people were doing that (small launch point by the parking area).

Note: LOTS of bugs. Bring bug spray. Had to cut the walk early due to a crazy amount of bugs.

Because of all the rain, the water level in the Mentor Lagoons was high enough we were able to paddle all the way to the sewer pipe. A beautiful experience.

This is Mentor’s best kept secret! Beautiful place to spend the day. Looking for a quiet place to relax a meditate to sound of waves this is it. Lots of unique wild life here too some which is endangered and protected. Some of trails are primitive while most are easy to walk and accessible.
